Michele A. M. Lowe is the Senior Co-ordinator for Hemispheric and Bilateral Negotiations at the CARICOM Secretariat Office of Trade Negotiations. She has overall responsibility for the technical co-ordination of the ongoing negotiations for a CARICOM-Canada Trade and Development Agreement. She also has technical responsibility for Trade Facilitation and Trade and Environment. She was the technical co-ordinator for CARICOM’s participation in the Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA) negotiations from 2001-2004 and for the negotiations for the CARICOM-Cuba Trade and Economic Co-operation Agreement in 2000. She also worked on CARIFORUM private sector matters in the post-Lomé (Cotonou) negotiations from 1998-1999.

Prior to joining the CRNM in 1998, Ms Lowe was a consultant for the London-based Caribbean Council for Europe and was responsible for research and writing of policy and other position /conference papers on issues relating to European Development Co-operation Policy towards the Caribbean in the context of the Lomé IV Convention.
